PRE-ORDER INFO

You may have noticed that we do pre-order sales before many new collection releases. We do this for a few very special reasons, and we wanted to share them here!

First things first, what are pre-orders?

Pre-orders are chances to purchase new styles before the product is ready to ship, usually a few weeks beforehand and always at a discount from the final retail price. Pre-order quantities are limited and are not offered for every style.

Why does Temple Ro offer pre-orders?

1. The discounted price helps to keep our products more affordable and accessible to a wider range of people. We want to live in a world where everyone can choose ethically produced clothing, and offering discounts helps to make that happen!

2. It cuts down on waste by helping us to gauge interest in new styles and fabrics. If we don’t get great response to our pre-order styles, we consider creating less of them which cuts down on fabric consumption and labor.

3. It helps keep our small, independent business thriving! Running an ethical fashion business and manufacturing in the USA can be challenging (to say the least). Traditional means of financing a fashion company (or any product based business) include bank loans, credit card debt, lines of credit, etc., all of which come with their own problems. Pre-orders help keep our cash flow strong and reduce our reliance on these traditional methods. We’d rather give you a discount than pay big banks fees and high interest rates!

When will my pre-order ship?

Each pre-order product has an expected shipping Start Date listed in the product description. We ship pre-orders in the order in which they are received, so yours may not ship on the exact date listed (but rest assured, you’re in the queue). While we make every possible attempt to begin shipping on the start date, there may be times when shipping is delayed due to unexpected events like fabric delays, fabric issues, unforeseen cutting or sewing challenges, etc. Feel free to contact us at any time if you’d like an update on the status of your pre-order.

What happens if I order pre-order and available items in the same order?

If you order a mix of pre-order and available pieces in one order, we will ship the available items immediately and ship the pre-order at our expense when it is ready.

Where can I shop Temple Ro pre-orders?

We have a special tab for Pre-Orders in our navigation bar, and all pre-order garments appear on our main shop page as well. Shop pre-orders now!

PRE-ORDER UPDATE | march 20, 2020

I’m writing with an update from San Francisco, where we are on a mandatory citywide lockdown due to COVID-19. Most importantly: everyone at Temple Ro is healthy and safe, and the lockdown is being taken seriously by the whole city.

Because of the lockdown, our factory is closed for at least the next three weeks, but potentially for longer. We’re happy that our sewing operators are all staying at home and staying safe (they are like family to us!), and we fully support them in taking as long as they need to return to work. However, this does affect the timing of your pre-order.

At this time, the fabric is at the factory but will not be cut or sewn until after the lockdown is over. The official projected end date is April 7th, although our factory could choose to stay closed for longer or the lockdown could be extended. If you have placed a pre-order, we are tentatively thinking that the new ship date for will be May 15th, and will update you as soon as we have more info as this could change at any time.

For now, we have removed the pre-order page from our website, but it will be back and full of new styles when our factory opens again.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy!

With love,

Rose - Temple Ro Founder

UPDATE | JUNE 22, 2020

Our factory is open again! All pre-orders from the quarantine have shipped, and upcoming pre-order times are accurately listed for each product.

Huge thanks to everyone who stuck with us, pre-ordered, and shopped our sale during the shutdown. Your patience and support is SO appreciated! We love you!

With love and gratitude,

Rose

TRANSITION - NEW CAPSULE COLLECTION

Our newest capsule collection is available for pre-order! As always, each piece is ethically made in the USA from vegan fabrics, but this one is different than anything we’ve done before. The collection is called Transition, because it exists in the center of multiple crossroads.

It goes from day to night with ease: every piece is designed to be worn dressed up or down, casual or extra.

It’s seasonless: each piece transitions your wardrobe from Fall into Spring, Spring into Fall, with lightweight fabrics, 3/4 sleeves, and our most wearable jumpsuit yet, the Superfox.

It walks the line between festival and default life: seamlessly integrating into both wardrobes as a costume piece or a wearable staple.

We’re also introducing a sustainable new eco-luxe fabric made from recycled water bottles! It’s entirely recyclable, breathable, and super silky. Used in this capsule for the Cynthia Pant and the Flatlock legging, it will be making an appearance in all our collections going forward.

We’re so excited about our most sustainable collection yet, and hope you meet us in the crossroads!

MINDFUL GIFTING ON THANKSGIVING

First and foremost, giving and receiving gifts are hands down some of our favorite things to do! There's something so sweet and heartwarming about the thought that goes into giving a gift, and we feel such a sense of gratitude and honor when we receive one. In the spirit of giving and receiving, we put together this guide for mindful gifting this season. Scroll for more!

Mindful gift giving.jpg
  1. SHOP SMALL & BUY LOCALLY! The holiday shopping season is a great time to support small businesses. Each time you purchase from a small business, you are positively impacting the life of a real person ! Trust us when we say that we literally do a little dance every single time an order comes in. :) According to the Small Business Administration, the 28 million small businesses in America account for 54 percent of all sales in the U.S. Plus small businesses have provided 55 percent of all jobs and 66 percent of all new jobs since the 1970s. When you make a purchase at a small business, you are doing your part to stimulate the local economy.
  2. SHOP ETHICALLY. There's nothing wrong with buying new clothes, but every dollar we spend makes an impact. While you're shopping this year, commit to only buying items that are sustainable, USA-made, cruelty-free, fairtrade, or second hand, and make a statement with each gift you give.
  3. GIVE THE GIFT OF TIME OR SERVICE. This is one of our favorite ways to be mindful during the holidays. Offer to volunteer at an animal shelter together, run a 5k for a good cause, or make a date to simply walk in the park, and the memories will last forever.
  4. GIVE NON-MATERIAL ITEMS. Give a non-material gift such as festival tickets, a charitable donation in the receiver's name, a massage or spa treatment, or a download of your favorite DJ/Singer/Band's latest album.
  5. BUY SECONDHAND. This one is self explanatory! Shop at thrift stores or local vintage shops (give a gift card if you aren't sure what size your gift receiver is...or what color they would prefer...or if they are super hard to shop for like *some of us* over here!). Add a personal touch by customizing your gift - sew on some fringe, reupholster a chair, paint a mini-mural on a boot, or draw a personal illustration inside a book.
  6. FINALLY, MAKE ROOM FOR NEW GIFTS IN A MINDFUL WAY. If you're receiving new clothes this year, you may have to get rid of a few things to make room for your new treasures. Make sure you're discarding your old items in the appropriate way to reduce landfill use and be kindest to the environment. Our favorite way to do this is to host a post-holiday clothing swap with friends! One woman's trash is another woman's treasure, as they say. :) If you're left with items after the swap, take old clothes to a local second hand store (or try re-selling them if they're in good condition). If your clothes are too trashed to be donated, find out if you have textile recycling in your area before throwing them away. Click here for a great article with info on the impact that clothing is making on our landfills and envrironment.

We hope our guide is helpful! Feel free to share, and leave your own ideas in the comments below. Happy Season of Gratitude!
